Bible Reading: Revelation 21: 1 – 4

What is the most beautiful place you’ve ever seen? You’re probably thinking about a park or an island or a mountain range. Heaven is more amazing than all of that.
Do you remember Jesus’ disciple named John? John was on the island of Patmos when God gave him a vision of heaven. Maybe you’ve seen pictures of people sitting on clouds playing harps or waiting in a long line to see if they get in. That’s not what John saw.
An angel began showing John different aspects of heaven. The huge city of New Jerusalem was shaped like a square and had 12 gates to come in. Inside, John saw that the streets were made of gold.
The angel showed John a river of life that flowed through the city. On either side of the river was a tree of life that grew twelve kinds of fruit. There was no sun, moon or stars, because God’s glory provided the light.
There was no more sickness or sadness or death. Heaven was like coming back to the Garden of Eden. God’s home is now with His people. To those who belong to Jesus, eternity will be wonderful.

Lord Jesus, thank you that you prepared a place for me in heaven. Help me to keep your kingdom in the center of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
